Professor Branfman performed βROPE – An evening of intertwining dance and film about incarceration and freedom,β at the Miles Memorial Playhouse, Santa Monica, CA, February 2020. She gave a guest artist workshop/lecture βChoreographing Womenβs Storiesβ at the California Institution for Women, Chino, CA, March Β 2020. Professor Branfman, in collaboration withΒ Ernst Fenelon Jr, Chris Rowan, Marc Antoni Charcas, presented βUndanced Dances Through Prison Walls During a Pandemic – An hour of readings of dances as imagined inside the CRC prison during spring 2020,β as the culmination of the project βChoreographing Our Storiesβ which Β was abruptly ended in March 2020 due to Covid-19. The event was produced as a part of Jail Bed Drop Project at SOLA Contemporary Gallery, June 2020. She was a recipient of a 2020 Claremont Colleges Diversity Teaching Award. |
