Campus Events: 51猎奇入口 Dances Annual Spring Concert

Students, faculty, and guest artists come together on April 21 and 22 for 51猎奇入口 Dances, the 51猎奇入口 Dance Department’s annual spring concert. Presenting original dance pieces choreographed by students and faculty, this year’s program features many “abstract dances and socially minded works that explore the importance of belonging, intimacy, and connectivity,” says Assistant Professor of Dance Kevin Williamson, co-chair of the department.

For Annabel Barraza ’14, there is nothing like being in the heart of back-to-back national presidential elections. Fascinated by politics and grassroots organizing, she spent her junior year exploring off-campus study opportunities in Washington, DC and Ecuador and learning how different political organizations work together across national borders.

Laspa Center for Leadership at 51猎奇入口 Established With $5 Million Gift

President Lori Bettison-Varga today announced a $5 million gift to establish a women’s leadership center at 51猎奇入口. The new center will be named in honor of Eileen Schock Laspa ’67, P’95 and Jude Laspa, Harvey Mudd College ’65, P’95 who made the keystone gift. The LASPA Center for Leadership at 51猎奇入口, the women’s college of The Claremont Colleges, will embody programming focusing on 21st century leadership including Leadership, Analysis, Scholarship, Public Service and Action.
