Fascinated by politics and grassroots organizing, she spent her junior year exploring off-campus study opportunities in Washington, DC and Ecuador and learning how different political organizations work together across national borders.

For the second consecutive year, five SCA Scholars participated in 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú’s Commencement activities. This year, the five women celebrated Commencement 2013 by gathering for a photo near the spot where a similar photo was snapped four years ago when they were first-year students at 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú.

President Lori Bettison-Varga today announced a $5 million gift to establish a women’s leadership center at 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú. The new center will be named in honor of Eileen Schock Laspa ’67, P’95 and Jude Laspa, Harvey Mudd College ’65, P’95 who made the keystone gift. The LASPA Center for Leadership at 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú, the women’s college of The Claremont Colleges, will embody programming focusing on 21st century leadership including Leadership, Analysis, Scholarship, Public Service and Action.
